Students at the Pasteur school now have a new parking space for bicycles and scooters within their premises. This initiative follows a proposal by the eco-delegates of Chilly-Mazarin schools, who aim to promote soft mobility and encourage more students to come to school by bike or scooter.
By facilitating cycle parking within the school grounds, the City helps promote more environmentally friendly modes of transport. This effort is part of the fight against air pollution, physical inactivity, and climate change.
This installation is fully integrated into the Cycling Plan of Chilly-Mazarin, which focuses on three main axes: developing cycling infrastructure, creating parking facilities and equipment to facilitate cycling, and fostering a cycling culture through awareness and learning activities.
The installation of this shelter at Pasteur school represents a further step in the deployment of this plan. Other schools in the municipality will soon be equipped with similar facilities to further encourage cycling and scooter use, thereby supporting the ecological transition and improving residents' quality of life.
