The School of Second Chance (E2C) in Étampes officially inaugurated its new premises on Thursday, October 29th, located within the E.Leclerc establishment, marking a key step in youth support.

Established in Étampes in 2023, the School of Second Chance (E2C) has relocated and is now situated within the premises of E.Leclerc Étampes, near the vehicle rental service. The inauguration of this new space took place on Thursday, October 29th, in the presence of numerous local officials and stakeholders.
Attendees included Mayor Gilles Bayart and his deputy for Employment, Training, and Integration Bésart Blakaj, Prefect delegate for equal opportunities Julie Bouaziz, sub-prefect Benoît Vidon, President of the Communauté d’Agglomération de l’Étampois Sud-Essonne Johann Mittelhausser, President of E2C Essonne Isabelle Perdereau, as well as the educational team, the institution's management, and local employment and economic development actors.
This event served to present the E2C's new facilities, which will increase its reception capacity by 20 to 30%. The school also reiterated its essential mission: to offer a second chance to young people who have drifted away from formal schooling and have lost self-confidence. These individuals, referred to as 'interns,' are supported by trainers and undertake internships in companies to clarify their ambitions and find their professional path.
“

"I heard about E2C through the Mission Locale Sud-Essonne. Speakers regularly come to explain their jobs and studies. It can give us ideas for our own path. Our trainers then help us with procedures or preparing for interviews."

Through a supportive and benevolent approach, the E2C empowers each young person to take charge of their future.
“

"Each of you arrives with your story and seeks to find your place. It is therefore important that you know there are people who believe in you. When you have doubted yourself, that counts enormously. E2C can help you discover capabilities you don't suspect you have. You have the right to find a job that makes you want to get up every morning and have ambition for yourself, because your ideas matter. You don't have to find all the solutions alone; E2C is here for that. I therefore wish to thank the entire teaching team and management. The city of Étampes has its part to play, particularly in facilitating links with local stakeholders."

Gilles Bayart · Mayor of Étampes
The meeting concluded with testimonials from three interns: Emma, Logan, and Mehdi, who shared their journeys and how the E2C had assisted them.
“

"E2C allowed me to regain confidence in myself, my skills, and my professional abilities. If I can pass on one message to future interns, it is: believe in yourselves and your projects."

Emma · intern
“

"E2C allowed me to discover different professions and acquire skills through my internships. I was able to gain professional experience that enabled me to become financially independent."

Mehdi · intern
“

"Thanks to E2C, I became aware of my skills and understood what I wanted to do professionally. Today, I want to become an education assistant."

Logan · intern
