Hunting, managed by the National Forestry Office (ONF), will commence on Thursday, October 15, 2026, in the Sénart forest. The primary objective is to control the population of large mammals, such as wild boars and roe deer. These animals, lacking natural predators, pose a threat to the forest's natural regeneration.
The 2026-2027 season will include a total of 16 hunting days. No hunting activities will take place on weekends, public holidays, or during school holidays.
The ONF reminds everyone that during this period, walkers, hikers, hunters, horse riders, and cyclists share the same space. It is strongly advised to pay attention to the signage in place, including panels on barriers and ribbons tied along paths. Entering the undergrowth and using the trails in active hunting zones is discouraged.
