This initiative, led by the Agglomération in partnership with the municipality and the association BoomForest, is part of an eco-committed approach to combat climate change and preserve local nature. The Coulée douce, a former agricultural space that has been redeveloped, benefits from the ENS funds of the Essonne department and is located between the Pointe à l’Abbé business park and the new Brinvilliers district.
The objectives of this operation are to increase the presence of nature in the city, develop biodiversity, and actively involve residents in the reforestation of the territory. The project, with a budget of €50,000, is financed by Cœur d’Essonne Agglomération.
The concept of an urban forest, inspired by the method of Japanese botanist Miyawaki, involves densely planting species adapted to the soil and climate, without pesticides. These dense forests play an effective role against pollution and provide a cooling effect. Although the forest will not be mature for 15 to 20 years, it will be self-sufficient within 3 years.
To participate, residents are invited to register for a one-hour slot, forming groups of about 15 planters supervised by 2 to 3 individuals. For any questions, contact plantetaforet@vso91.fr.
