The 2026 edition of the Heritage Days was a great success in Bois-Colombes, welcoming over 1,680 visitors over four days. The team from the Municipal Archives presented a program focused on World War II, a significant period for the town.
Despite the subject's complexity, the activities offered successfully blended historical rigor, creativity, and entertainment, attracting many residents eager to discover their local heritage. The program included exhibitions, guided tours, an escape game, and a theatrical walk, all of which were very well-received.
Highlights of these days included the workshop "Discovering Cosmetics in Bois-Colombes, from Yesterday to Today," the exhibition tour "The Daily Life of Bois-Colombes Residents During the War 1939-1945," the itinerant show "Everyone to the Shelters!" and the guided tour of the air-raid shelter. The escape game "Scandal at the Rationing" and the quiz on the 130th anniversary of Bois-Colombes also captivated the public.
Other guided tours explored the town hall, the Church of Notre-Dame de Bon-Secours, and the exhibition "Destination Tropics" at the Château des Tourelles. Conferences on the history of the company Guerlain and the firm International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) were also held, along with a guided bike tour of the town.
The main exhibition, titled "The Daily Life of Bois-Colombes Residents During the War 1939-1945," covered mobilization, exodus, occupation, bombings, and liberation, as well as requisitions, shortages, and repressive actions experienced by some residents. The films presented also evoked this tumultuous period.
