Châtenay-Malabry Celebrates Mental Health Week Through Art

From October 6th to 16th, Châtenay-Malabry highlights mental health through art. The town is hosting numerous free events, including exhibitions and creative workshops, to promote well-being and social inclusion.
As part of the 2026 National Great Cause, the City of Châtenay-Malabry, through its Local Mental Health Council, is mobilizing with its partners for a week dedicated to mental health. From Tuesday, October 6th to Friday, October 16th, a series of free events are offered to the public.
The Médiathèque (7-9 rue des Vallées) will host several exhibitions. From October 6th to 16th, discover artisanal productions by workers from the ESAT of the Fondation des Amis de l’Atelier, emphasizing the role of creation in well-being and social inclusion. Concurrently, paintings, drawings, and photos created by patients from the EPS Erasme (Day Hospital, Minkowski Unit, AMTI) will be displayed, showcasing personal fulfillment through free artistic expression.
The Restaurant Les Machines (254 avenue de la Division Leclerc) will also feature works from the Atelier des Muses of EPS Erasme, created in collaboration with patients from the Unit for Integration and Rehabilitation (UIR) and healthcare professionals, illustrating the daily encounter between art and care.
Several workshops are also planned. On Tuesday, October 6th, the Centre Denise Croissant (7 allée de Verrières) will offer mosaic initiation workshops for adults, led by the Association Vivre. On Wednesday, October 7th, the Bibliothèque Louis Aragon (place Léon Blum) will host the 'Les Petites Escales' workshop for parents and children (aged 5 and up), focusing on self-confidence.
On Thursday, October 8th, the Pavillon des Arts et du Patrimoine (98 rue Jean Longuet) will host a guided tour and an artistic workshop with watercolor artist Virginie Rasmont, a laureate of the 'Elles en scènes' prize. On the same day, the Médiathèque will offer acrylic painting and drawing workshops, as well as linocut workshops, led by facilitators from EPS Erasme.
On Friday, October 9th, the Salle La Briaude (22-32 rue Léon Martine) will buzz with a 'Zumba' workshop, an activity beneficial for both body and mind. The Médiathèque will also offer a linocut workshop.
From Wednesday, October 14th to Thursday, December 31st, the Théâtre la Piscine (254 avenue de la Division Leclerc) will exhibit the 'Sur le Fil' project by Joseph Banderet, blending circus and photography, a result of an artistic project conducted with L'Azimut, the Centre Denise Croissant, and ESAT Vivre. The opening reception is on Wednesday, October 14th at 6 PM.
On Wednesday, October 14th, the Médiathèque will organize a 'Self-Esteem' photo workshop and a 'Plastic Arts' workshop. The Espace Famille Lamartine (1 ter rue Lamartine) will offer a 'Giant Origami Painting' workshop on Thursday, October 15th, the same day the Médiathèque will host another linocut workshop.
The Cinéma Le Rex (364 avenue de la Division Leclerc) will screen Isabelle Carré's film 'Les Rêveurs' on Thursday, October 15th at 8:30 PM, followed by a debate. Finally, on Friday, October 16th, the Espace Séniors (291-293 avenue de la Division Leclerc) will host 'Boomer’s Café Let's Talk Mental Health', and the Médiathèque will offer a 'Salsa' workshop.
The week will conclude on Saturday, October 17th at the Médiathèque with a 'Sound Therapy' workshop led by Sabrina Perquis, offering an introduction to sound vibrations for relaxation.
