The town of Châtenay-Malabry, through its Health Prevention Center and in collaboration with various local partners, is organizing a week of free activities from Monday, September 21 to Saturday, September 26. The aim is to raise residents' awareness of disability and foster a better understanding of existing support systems.
ESAT L’Atelier will open its doors on Monday, September 21, Wednesday, September 23, and Thursday, September 24, at 17 rue de l’Égalité, to showcase the skills of its workers with disabilities. An exhibition titled "Better Knowledge, Better Guidance…" will be held from Tuesday, September 22 to Saturday, September 26 at the Médiathèque, located at 7-9 rue des Vallées. It will provide information on local structures and services for people with disabilities. The meeting "Parents and School: A Winning Duo for Children 'All Different, All Capable!'", initially planned for this week, has been cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday, October 8, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Espace Séniors (291-293 avenue de la Division Leclerc). It will bring together education professionals to discuss schooling pathways and support systems. A fun awareness session on different types of disabilities, featuring quizzes and discussions, is offered to seniors on Wednesday, September 23, from 11:45 AM to 12:20 PM at the Espace Séniors. Registration for the associated lunch is required one week in advance at 01 46 32 46 69.
On Wednesday, September 23, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, the Thomas Masaryk gymnasium will host interactive workshops for young people aged 8 to 25, including discovery of adaptive sports, risk prevention, and testimonials. The awareness trail "In My Town, In My Skin" will offer simulations of reduced mobility, visual and hearing impairments, and invisible disabilities. On Friday, September 25, from 2 PM to 4:30 PM, a walk through the town will start at La Passerelle (4 rue Paul Gauguin) and end at Maison Heureuse. Throughout the week, fun workshops will also be offered to children aged 3 to 10 in Châtenay-Malabry's schools and leisure centers, focusing on the discovery of the five senses and motor skills to promote early awareness of disability.
