This year, drought severely impacted the hay production of a farmer located in Saint-Mard, a commune near Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport. His harvest was cut in half, jeopardizing the feeding of his approximately one hundred cattle.
To help overcome this difficulty, the airport donated 80 bales of hay. This resource comes from the meadows located on the city side of the airport infrastructure, whose hay was not previously utilized.
This initiative, driven by the airport's grounds and facilities maintenance teams, not only supports a local economic player but also valorizes a previously unused resource while optimizing green space maintenance costs.
For this farmer, who uses about 800 bales of hay annually, this donation is a welcome support after a particularly challenging season marked by water scarcity.
