In response to the appearance of cracks in homes, the town hall of Bagnolet has initiated a procedure to request recognition of a natural disaster status. To build a solid case, municipal services are asking for residents' help in documenting all complaints and damages observed within the communal territory.
These cracks could be attributed to the phenomenon of clay shrinkage and swelling, a natural hazard exacerbated by the drought and heatwave episodes that occurred during the summer of 2026.
To contribute to this census, residents are invited to send several items via email to catastrophe.naturelle@ville-bagnolet.fr. They are asked to attach photos of the cracks or other observed damages, a brief description of the damage, and their contact details (name, home address, phone number).
It is essential to include "Dommages été 2026" in the subject line of the message. The deadline for submitting this information is February 28, 2026.
