The Town of Drancy has redeveloped a section of its cemetery, adding 108 plots for traditional burials and 220 cavurnes to accommodate funeral urns.

In response to the neglect of some old graves in the area previously reserved for children, the municipality decided to renovate these spaces. Considering the topography, cavurnes, small vaults designed for urns, have been installed. This option provides a place for remembrance after cremation, bridging the gap between columbariums and traditional burials.
Drancy cemetery now features 220 cavurnes and 108 new traditional burial plots.
Purchasing a funeral concession from the municipality is required for a cavurne. The available terms are ten years (€350) or thirty years (€1200).
A funeral home must then be hired to seal the cavurne, which measures 80 cm by 80 cm and can hold up to four funeral urns.
