Throughout October, the facade of the Montreuil Town Hall will be illuminated in pink each evening to support the "Pink October" campaign, dedicated to raising awareness for breast cancer screening.
In partnership with the Assurance Maladie de Seine-Saint-Denis, Montreuil is deploying the MAM MOBILE 93, a health bus equipped to inform women about breast cancer risks, perform mammograms, and conduct cervical cancer screenings.
This screening bus, accessible for free and without an appointment, will be located at Place Jean-Jaurès from Tuesday, October 13th to Thursday, October 15th, from 9 AM to 5 PM. It will then move to Place Le Morillon, in the heart of a priority neighborhood, on Friday, October 16th, during the same hours.
These initiatives complement Montreuil's prevention and health policy, which notably encourages physical activity, recognized for reducing the risk of numerous cancers. The city offers free sports activities on weekends in its parks and gymnasiums.
Medical studies highlight that regular physical activity can "reduce the risk of overall mortality by 18%" and has a protective effect on the risk and prognosis of breast cancer. To involve its staff, the Municipality will distribute a pink ribbon to all its agents starting Thursday, October 1st, encouraging them to show solidarity and mobilization.
