The Joseph Kessel Media Library in Beauchamp is preparing to join the Val Parisis Agglomeration Community (CAVP). This transfer, to be voted on in November, will lead to modernization works and extended hours and services.

The Joseph Kessel Media Library, a local cultural facility for Beauchamp residents, is set to reach a new milestone with its transfer to the Val Parisis Agglomeration Community (CAVP). This project will be submitted for a vote by the relevant bodies in November. This integration into the inter-municipal network Val Parisis Médiathèques will allow the library to benefit from services designed at the territorial level while maintaining its role in local cultural life.
Users will benefit from concrete improvements, including a single card granting access to 8 media libraries and over 500,000 documents, with reservation and delivery to Beauchamp. Opening hours will be extended from 28 to 33 hours per week. Self-service loan-return machines, an external return box, and RFID-equipped collections (contactless chip) will offer greater autonomy. Digital resources, including press, self-training, and online cinema, will be accessible 24/7. Specific actions will be undertaken for audiences distant from reading, and the team will be strengthened.
To support this evolution, the building will undergo renovation works for compliance, interior redesign, and insulation. The media library will temporarily close its doors starting January 1, 2027, for several months, to prepare for its integration into the network and the installation of its new equipment. Practical arrangements regarding current loans, document returns, and access to other network media libraries during the closure will be communicated to users soon.
