The town of Arcueil, in partnership with Grand-Orly Seine Bièvre, is offering free rainwater harvesting barrels to residents to combat climate change and protect local biodiversity.

In response to the increasing effects of climate change on water resources, the town of Arcueil is collaborating with Grand-Orly Seine Bièvre to provide free rainwater harvesting barrels. This initiative aims to promote the conservation of this vital resource and support local biodiversity.
Registration is currently open via the website moneaudepluie.fr. The barrels have a capacity of 350 liters, are made from recycled plastic, and come with a complete gutter collection kit, all manufactured in France. In 2025, 6,000 barrels were distributed across the territory.
Collecting rainwater offers several benefits: it helps preserve drinking water resources, reduces water bills for garden watering, represents an eco-responsible civic action, and contributes to mitigating floods caused by increasingly abundant and sudden rainfall runoffs.
