The association Chemins d’Art is taking over the Orangerie in Cachan from October 5 to 31, 2026, with its annual collective exhibition. Following "Métamorphoses" in 2025, this year's theme is "Incomplete!", an invitation to celebrate the aesthetic gesture and the creative process. This theme, dating back to artists like Michelangelo in the 15th century, questions creation that is intentionally interrupted or imposed, leaving room for viewer interpretation.
Sculpture, painting, photography, textiles... The artists of Chemins d’Art offer their personal interpretations of the unfinished, whether literal, quirky, poetic, or minimalist. The exhibition highlights the diversity of talents and techniques, providing a rich and varied overview of artistic approaches.
In parallel, the Open Artist Studio days will take place on the weekend of October 10 and 11. This event, organized with the support of the City of Cachan, allows residents to meet artists in their workspaces, discover their techniques, and discuss their sources of inspiration. It has been a key cultural event for Cachan since 1991.
The city of Cachan is recognized for its welcoming and inspiring environment for artists, notably through the Cité des artistes (City of Artists), a complex of 22 studio-apartments created in the 1990s. These professionals, united within the Chemins d’Art association, collaborate on joint projects and contribute to the local artistic scene.
The "Incomplete!" exhibition will be held at the Orangerie, 15 rue Gallieni. The opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 7 PM. The open studio days are on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 2 PM to 7 PM. An information point will be available at the Orangerie during these hours.
