From October 2 to 17, the MurMurs festival takes over Vitry-sur-Seine to explore the figure of the monster in all its forms, blending imaginary creatures, mythological figures, and contemporary visions.

The city of Vitry-sur-Seine hosts the MurMurs festival from October 2 to 17, dedicating its edition to exploring the theme of the monstrous. The event addresses imaginary creatures, mythological figures, pop culture monsters, but also monsters encountered in real life, through societal issues such as harassment, otherness, and mental health.
Several artistic disciplines are highlighted, including street art, visual arts, and literature. Numerous municipal facilities are partnering with the program to offer diverse events. 'We wanted a broad, unifying theme, but one that remains unusual. Indeed, it's no longer just about talking about the monster in the literal sense. The theme also takes on a more societal meaning,' explains Enora Daviot, head of the Arts and Territory service.
Monumental murals will be created in the heart of the city by artists Louis Rechner and Adrien Seuzaret, assistants to Vitry artist Lassana Sarre. Their work will be visible near the municipal technical center and the Joséphine-Baker school.
The festival will also feature urban walks and parent-child workshops, blurring the lines between arts, generations, and locations. Created in 2012, Mur/Murs has become a major event for artistic creation in public spaces in Vitry-sur-Seine, gradually expanding its program over the years.
