A public information meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 14th at 8:30 PM at the Théâtre de La Celle Saint-Cloud to present the closure works for the North tube of the Saint-Cloud Tunnel (A13). This event, attended by representatives of the State, Dirif, and local elected officials, aims to address residents' concerns about this unprecedented closure.
The closure, announced on July 21st, 2026, by the regional prefect Georges-François Leclerc, will last ten months and affects a major axis used by approximately 80,000 vehicles per day. The South tube will remain open, except during July-August 2027, when viaduct works will necessitate a total closure in both directions.
These works are necessary to reinforce the North tube, built in the 1930s without reinforced concrete and showing vault deformations revealed by inspections in 2024-2025. A new reinforced concrete shell will be cast inside over 72 meters, for a project costing €35 million, funded equally by the Société des grands projets and the State.
Given the expected traffic consequences, two diversion schemes are planned: to the south via RD910/RN118 and to the north via RN13/A14. The State will partially cover the toll on the A14. Dirif and the Société des grands projets are modeling the impact commune by commune to anticipate traffic rerouting during peak hours, particularly affecting La Celle Saint-Cloud.
The City of La Celle-Saint-Cloud, through the committee of mayors of line L, is advocating for the reliability of lines L and U, toll reimbursement for the A86 Duplex, and increased bus frequencies. Residents will be kept informed of local measures.
It is advised to prioritize public transport (line L) and carpooling, adjust travel times to avoid peak hours, favor remote work, and follow traffic information.
