The City of Saint-Germain-en-Laye is enhancing safety at the Bel-Air, Pereire, and Frahier intersections with measures that are already effective and others planned for the short, medium, and long term.

Several actions have already been implemented to improve road safety in the area. These include a speed limit of 30 km/h on the section between Place Christiane-Frahier and the Bel-Air intersection, reinforcement of signage and road markings, the use of video ticketing, and adjustment of traffic lights. 'Greek crosses', which allow safe left turns when oncoming traffic is stopped, have also been installed, along with increased controls.
For the month of October, the installation of pedestrian countdown timers is planned, allowing pedestrians to see the remaining time before the light turns green for motorists. A new Greek cross will be implemented, and a left turn prohibition will be established on Rue Albert-Priolet towards Rue Pereire.
In the medium term, starting in 2027, illuminated pedestrian crossings will be created and traffic light cameras will be installed in the 30 km/h zone. Longer-term projects include an urban study of the Lisière Pereire – University Campus sector, aiming to redevelop the axis into an urban boulevard.
To inform this study, two citizen participation workshops are being organized by the City, in partnership with the urban strategy consulting firm CityLinked. Associations and the City have scheduled a meeting in one year to assess the outcomes of these numerous actions.
