This label highlights an exceptional site, reflecting the artistic encounter between Marta Pan, a sculptor of Hungarian origin influenced by Constantin Brancusi, and André Wogenscky, an architect and close collaborator of Le Corbusier. Settling in Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse in 1952, they built their house-studio, a space where their creative universes mutually nourished each other.
Marta Pan's (1923-2008) work is characterized by abstract sculptures inspired by nature, exploring movement and balance through various materials such as wood, bronze, and concrete. She created numerous monumental sculptures in France and Japan.
André Wogenscky (1916-2004) developed a modern, humanist architecture, prioritizing light and functionality. He is notably the architect behind the Maison de la Culture in Grenoble and several university hospitals in Paris, receiving the Grand Prix national d’architecture in 1989.
In the garden of their house-studio, Marta Pan's sculptures engage in a dialogue with the architecture designed by André Wogenscky, creating a unique harmony between art and environment. This exceptional place represents a precious cultural heritage for the municipality of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse.
