A national strike notice has been filed for Tuesday, September 29, 2026, which could affect the operation of schools in Sartrouville during school hours. The City will organize a minimum reception service (SMA) based on the number of striking teachers known to date.
The SMA will be in place for the Joliot-Curie and Pierre-Brossolette nursery schools, as well as for the Paul-Bert nursery school (which will be closed). This list is subject to updates. For students whose teachers are on strike, reception will be provided between 8 AM and 4:30 PM at the Jacqueline-Auriol leisure center, located at 51 avenue du Général-de-Gaulle. After-school care will not be provided at the SMA site.
Children with a PAI (individualized reception project) cannot be accommodated within the SMA framework. A registration form must be completed by an accompanying adult. The City advises parents to use this service only in cases of extreme necessity and to arrange their own childcare if possible.
Other schools in Sartrouville not mentioned will operate without SMA, with non-striking teachers welcoming students of striking teachers if applicable. Parents are advised to contact their school staff to determine their child's teacher's strike status.
Furthermore, the social movement will significantly impact school catering. The canteens at Mme De Sévigné nursery school, Joliot-Curie nursery school, and Pierre-Brossolette elementary school will be closed. The canteen at the Turgot school group will be heavily disrupted, and parents are invited to pick up their children during lunchtime if possible. Meals reserved for children who do not attend will not be charged.
