The event, held at the Carré in Saint-Cloud, brought together over 100 representatives from the territory, including elected officials, technical services, developers, and associations. This ambitious contract aims to ensure sustainable water management and strengthen adaptation to climate change across a watershed of 82 municipalities, representing nearly 5 million inhabitants.
Led by the animation unit of the Espaces association, this new contract, succeeding previous initiatives, includes 75 signatory structures, comprising 45 local authorities and 9 intercommunalities. The Versailles Grand Parc Agglomeration Community (VGP), represented by several of its elected officials such as Olivier LEBRUN (Mayor of Viroflay), Sonia BRAU (VGP Vice-President), and Nathalie JAQUEMET (Mayor of Bougival), actively participates in this collective dynamic.
The action plan, financially supported by the Seine-Normandie Water Agency and the Île-de-France Region, is structured around four priority axes by 2030: source management of rainwater with a goal of 80 hectares of de-impermeabilized surfaces, water resource sobriety, preservation and restoration of natural environments with a target of 50 hectares of renatured spaces, and finally, environmental awareness and education for the general public and professionals.
The animation unit of the Seine centrale urbaine will provide free technical and methodological support to project owners within Versailles Grand Parc and the watershed throughout the five years of the contract's implementation. This support aims to secure projects, from the design phase to obtaining subsidies.
