The town of Briis-sous-Forges is organizing the fourth edition of Les BriisCars on Sunday, October 18th, a charity soapbox derby race supporting the fight against cancer.

Rue Boissière will be the stage for the fourth edition of Les BriisCars, a soapbox derby taking place on Sunday, October 18th, starting at 9:30 AM. This event, organized in partnership with the Ligue contre le cancer and the Municipality, aims to raise funds for organizations fighting cancer.
Pilots will arrive on-site from 7:30 AM. Spectator welcome begins at 9:30 AM, with designated fan zones. The morning will feature free practice runs, followed by a concert and exhibition of the soapbox cars from 12 PM to 1:30 PM. Two official runs for each soapbox car will take place from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM, concluding with an awards ceremony around 5:30 PM.
Concurrently, a 'Health Village' will be open from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. It will offer cancer prevention and screening stands, in collaboration with several local partners including the Centre de Dépistage des Cancers d’Île-de-France, the CPAM de l’Essonne, the Ligue contre le Cancer, the CPTS sud Hurepoix, the Groupe Hospitalier Nord Essonne, and the Centre Hospitalier de Bligny.
This village will provide information on organized screenings (breast, cervical, colorectal) and practical workshops. Hair donation, collection of old X-rays, and activities focused on sports, nutrition, and alcohol/tobacco prevention will also be part of the program.
Due to the event, Rue Boissière and Chemin de la Brosse will be closed to traffic from Saturday, October 17th at noon until Sunday, October 18th at midnight. A detour will be in place via the hamlet of Chante-coq and the village of Janvry.
