The operation, managed by SyAGE, covers a 208-meter stretch of this dead-end street and is expected to last approximately 13 weeks. This intervention follows a first rehabilitation phase carried out last year.
Existing pipes were partially obstructed by calcite, a mineral deposit often caused by the presence of spring water. To overcome this issue, new pipes are being made of polypropylene, a material better suited to these specific conditions, as explained by Mourad Timsi, project manager at SyAGE.
The construction is progressing from the lowest point of the street upwards, with new pipes being laid at a depth of about two meters. The project also includes the rehabilitation of 26 private connections and 4 drain connections.
Upon completion of the renewal works, the Rue Curie roadway will undergo a complete resurfacing. The total cost of this operation amounts to €732,000.
