Around fifteen young residents of Étampes, aged 12 to 20, participated this Friday, October 23, in an initiation camp for English boxing at the Michel-Poirier sports center, organized by the City of Étampes.

Offered by the Youth Information Service (SIJE), this activity allowed teenagers to discover a new sport during the school holidays. Supervised by Teddy Paumard, president and coach of Fight Club 91, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of English boxing, including warm-up, footwork, simple combinations, and fun exercises, in a friendly atmosphere adapted to all levels.
« I am happy to respond to the request from the City and the SIJE for this first camp dedicated to young people and to introduce them to this initiation to English boxing. We worked on basic exercises: warm-up, footwork, simple combinations, lots of games to make it fun. The most important thing is that they enjoy themselves, that they discover it with pleasure », explained Teddy Paumard.
The mayor Gilles Bayart, accompanied by SIJE agents Nathalie and Coralie, came to support this initiative, which aims to promote sports discovery, sharing, and the learning of values such as respect and self-control.
