Élise Coudin has taken over as director of ENSAE Paris, a key institution within the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris). An alumna of the school and a doctor in economic sciences, she aims to consolidate the excellence of its training and research programs while guiding the institution through societal, technological, and environmental transitions.
ENSAE Paris, known for its interdisciplinary approach combining applied mathematics, data science, economics, and social sciences, plays a vital role within IP Paris. The school focuses on transforming data into knowledge and informed decisions, thereby enriching the Institute's training and research to address major contemporary challenges.
In her new role, Élise Coudin will oversee the evolution of training and research, particularly in response to the challenges posed by artificial intelligence, data management, and economic and societal transformations. This mission aligns with the collective dynamic of IP Paris and draws upon the research conducted at the Center for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST), a joint research unit involving ENSAE-ENSAI, the CNRS, and the École polytechnique.
With extensive experience in education, research, and public service, Élise Coudin previously served as the Director of Studies at ENSAE Paris and conducted research at CREST. She also led the data science innovation laboratory at Insee and the Center for Epidemiology on the Causes of Death at Inserm.
