The association IP Paris Défense, led by Mathys Lesbre, has formalized a partnership with the DGA, strengthening the link between engineering students and the defense sector.

The association IP Paris Défense, founded by Mathéo Le Moël and Charles Farah, aims to connect students with the world of defense, including the DGA and players in the defense industrial and technological base (BITD). This initiative is realized through conferences and visits to exceptional sites such as air bases or Île Longue.
In 2025, a new team of students from ENSTA and Télécom SudParis took over the project, formalizing the structure in collaboration with the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. This work has enabled the establishment of the current agreement with the DGA. Mathys Lesbre, the current president, emphasizes that this convention is a significant mark of trust, opening up opportunities for exchanges and exclusive events.
The growing interest of students in these topics is explained by several factors: the current geopolitical context highlighting sovereignty and defense, the sector's dynamism with major investments and meaningful careers, and its role as a driver of scientific innovation in fields like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and cybersecurity.
IP Paris Défense plans to organize round tables, hackathons, and forums to develop members' networks. Conferences on strategic themes such as nuclear deterrence and the ethical challenges of AI in armaments are also on the agenda, supplemented by a weekly strategic watch disseminated on social media.
The vision for the coming years includes strengthening the student community within each school of the Institute, popularizing defense and sovereignty themes to make them accessible to all, and encouraging vocations towards careers in the defense sector, such as the armament engineers corps or military schools.
