Ahead of the European Week for Waste Reduction (SERD), a special program is planned for the second half of November, starting on Saturday, November 21st at the Théâtre Donald Cardwell in Draveil. The goal is to encourage citizens, schoolchildren, businesses, and local authorities to reduce and better sort their waste daily, transforming it into resources.
Numerous activities are on offer, including workshops, visits, conferences, outings, and repair Cafés. These initiatives aim to raise awareness for a more virtuous waste management cycle.
From October to December, the Environment Department is also organizing nature outings and workshops on fauna, screenings of short films, participatory science initiatives, and moments of relaxation in nature. Thematic outings with the National Forestry Office will focus on biodiversity preservation and the forest of witches for families. Following Saint Catherine's Day, an arboriculture course on planting an apple tree will be held at the park of the Agglomeration House.
For those interested in sustainable mobility, in early December, the community cinema Le Cyrano in Montgeron will screen the film « Ensemble ». This film recounts the adventure of international cyclists, including participants from Val d’Yerres Val de Seine, who traveled to Belém, Brazil, by bike and sailboat for the COP30 Bike Ride in 2025.
