Breast cancer screening is an essential step, allowing for early detection, sometimes even before symptoms appear. The town of Igny encourages its residents to learn about recommendations and make appointments for screening when indicated.
Throughout October, several events are planned to inform, raise awareness, and contribute to fundraising for the League Against Cancer. A sale of merchandise will be organized at the Patio and during the Mud Run on October 10th, with items starting from 2€.
Key dates include a women's pétanque tournament on Saturday, October 3rd from 1:30 PM at the boulodrome, the Health Village at the Mud Run on October 10th from 10 AM to 6 PM at Parc Saint-Nicolas, and a solidarity sewing evening on Wednesday, October 14th from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Patio. A donation ceremony to the League Against Cancer will take place on November 4th at 6 PM in the wedding hall.
Igny will be illuminated in pink throughout October, including under bridges, to highlight the importance of prevention. Local businesses are also encouraged to participate by displaying the color.
Additionally, pink pompoms made by residents during the summer will be distributed on October 1st at the Hôpital Paris-Saclay to individuals undergoing screening, offering symbolic support.
