The local unit "Les 3 Vallées" of the French Red Cross in Saint-Chéron inaugurated its new first aid vehicle on Saturday October 10, in the presence of local officials.

The inauguration was attended by Rémi Boyer, Mayor of Saint-Chéron, Damien Hébuterne, Deputy Delegate for Associative Life, elected officials from the C.C.D.H., as well as former board members and activity leaders.
Sophie Gomot, President of the local unit, and Jules Millot, Local Director of Emergency and Rescue (DLUS), emphasized that this vehicle represents "the result of years of work, commitment, mobilization, and solidarity from all our volunteers." They also recalled the difficulties encountered with the old vehicle, which had become obsolete and no longer met standards.
Fully funded by the French Red Cross, this new and modern ambulance significantly improves the intervention conditions for rescuers and the comfort of victims. It features an electric-assisted stretcher, better insulation for the sanitary cell, and air suspension for shock absorption during transport.
Beyond victim care, the vehicle also facilitates their evacuation. The Saint-Chéron rescuers have already tested it during the Bean Fair and Salonvert events last September. The inauguration also served to acknowledge the remarkable solidarity of other local units in the department, particularly those in Arpajon, Limours, and Massy, whose vehicle loans helped maintain interventions.
Sophie Gomot and Jules Millot thanked the municipalities of the 16 communes covered by the local unit for their financial support and provision of premises, including those at the Pôle Solidaire Associatif Communal in Saint-Chéron. They also paid tribute to the 21 volunteer rescuers who keep the unit active daily.
