In response to the floods that affected the Yvette basin in October 2024, residents of Saulx-les-Chartreux have decided to act to better protect their homes. SIAHVY offers diagnostics and financial aid to carry out necessary improvements.

Following the floods that affected the Yvette basin, particularly in October 2024, SIAHVY (Intercommunal Syndicate for Hydraulic Development of the Yvette Valley) is assisting residents who wish to strengthen their home's protection.
Since 2025, diagnostics have been carried out to identify housing vulnerabilities. These assessments recommend suitable modifications to better withstand future floods.
The undertaken works can benefit from state aid, covering up to 80% of their cost, with a limit of €36,000 per home. This measure encourages homeowners to invest in securing their property.
Through a series of articles, several residents share their experiences. They detail the reasons that prompted them to act, the work they have carried out, the administrative steps taken, and the expected benefits in case of new flooding.
