To mark the 400th anniversary of the Navy, an exceptional Army-Nation Day will be held on Saturday, October 10th, from 9 am to 6 pm. The event will begin with the landing of a Caïman Marine helicopter on Avenue Charles de Gaulle at 9 am, followed by the opening of the Army-Nation village at 9:30 am. Various stands will welcome the public from 11:30 am.
This commemoration holds particular significance for the City, which maintains strong ties with the French Navy. These links are notably demonstrated through the hosting, since 2019, of a Naval Military Preparation (PMM) and the sponsorship of Helicopter Flotilla 33F.
The military ceremony will commence at 12 pm with the presentation of berets and tricorn hats to PMM trainees in the presence of military authorities, as well as the awarding of decorations. The 33F helicopter is scheduled to depart at 6 pm. The detailed program is subject to change.
Several stands will be present to inform the public. The Admiral de Joinville Naval Military Preparation will offer discussions on commitment and the missions of sailors. Helicopter Flotilla 33F will showcase its surveillance, rescue, and naval support operations.
The Naval Strategic Studies Center (CESM) will address maritime and geopolitical issues. The CIRFA Mer will provide information on careers within the French Navy. The 5th Company of the Paris Firefighters will highlight their rescue and protection missions, while the National Police will present its various services for citizen security.
