AP-HP organized the second edition of its Health Data Day, a forum for discussion and reflection on the multiple uses of health data for care, research, management, and innovation. It was an opportunity to highlight those who work daily to make data exploitation possible. A look back at a day at the heart of innovation.
Organized by the teams of the AP-HP's Health Data Warehouse (EDS) and the AP-HP's Clinical Research and Innovation Directorate (DRCI), this 2nd Health Data Day featured presentations of high-impact projects, exchanges between professionals, and the awarding of Data Trophies. The day aimed to showcase the richness of initiatives led by AP-HP teams and the new perspectives offered by the reuse of health data to evolve hospital practices.
Six projects led by AP-HP teams were presented, highlighting initiatives with varied applications addressing concrete daily hospital challenges: Support for care with Dr. Fabrice Uhel (Cohort360), Organization of care with Dr. Kanssaa El Ayeb (preventive medicine in operating rooms), Quality of care with Dr. Sandra Fournier (prevention of hospital-acquired infections), Management with Vincent Michaloux (bed management and patient flow), Medical research with Prof. Raphaële Seror (chronic inflammatory diseases), and Nursing research with Juliette Vay Demouy (sexual health and hypertensive patients).
The Data Trophies awarded five projects: Prevention of cardiovascular complications in Horton's disease (Dr. Alexis Guedon), Understanding the impact of blood cancers during pregnancy (Dr. Rudy Birsen), Facilitating patient referral to specialized obesity consultations (Dr. Pierre Bel Lassen), Using artificial intelligence for hospital diagnosis coding (Perceval Wajsburt), and Improving care organization for elderly patients (Dr. Claire Roy).
Dr. Susanne Ozegowski, former Director General of Digital and Innovation at the German Federal Ministry of Health, shared Germany's experience in health data, including the electronic health record and interoperability, while discussing challenges in data sovereignty and artificial intelligence at the European level.
Workshops on informing patients about AI use in hospitals and on project implementation feedback allowed participants to deepen discussions. Deliverables will be available on the 2026 Health Data Day website. Participants also had the opportunity to meet and exchange with the teams driving these data-related projects.
