The Avicenne AP-HP hospital has acquired a new, latest-generation onco-dermatology platform, dedicated to the screening and follow-up of patients at high risk of melanoma.
This new platform brings together state-of-the-art equipment for earlier and more precise care. It includes the 3D Vectra Mapping system, which captures a three-dimensional photograph of the entire body in just three seconds to detect new moles or changes in existing lesions, making Avicenne Hospital the first AP-HP institution equipped with such a tool. It also features the LC-OCT Damae, a non-invasive skin imaging device that allows for the analysis of suspicious lesions without requiring a biopsy.
Thanks to these innovative technologies, medical teams can identify melanomas at an earlier stage, provide enhanced monitoring for high-risk patients, and limit unnecessary diagnostic procedures, thereby improving the quality and flow of patient care.
This onco-dermatology platform operates in a network with healthcare professionals in the community and partner institutions, both within and outside the AP-HP. Patients are referred by their doctor or dermatologist to benefit from this specialized expertise and the latest-generation technologies.
