The regional road safety observatory of Île-de-France has released its monthly road accident barometer for September 2026. This report, which aggregates data from the eight departmental observatories, highlights a notable rise in the number of fatalities across the region.
Compared to September 2025, the number of accidents and injured individuals also increased, though more moderately than the fatality count. No department saw a simultaneous decrease in all three indicators.
Since the beginning of 2026, these same indicators have been simultaneously increasing in four out of eight departments: Seine-Saint-Denis, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, and Val-d'Oise. No department has recorded a simultaneous decrease in these three metrics.
