The underground station of Paris Gare de Lyon benefited from an in-depth cleaning operation at the end of September, carried out by the teams of SNCF Gares & Connexions.

Approximately 630,000 travelers use the RER D daily, with most transiting through Paris Gare de Lyon. To supplement regular maintenance, a more significant cleaning operation was necessary in this enclosed and highly frequented environment.
For nearly 2 weeks, 6 agents worked continuously at night to clean the platforms of the underground station. The tactile paving, essential for visually impaired or blind individuals, as well as the various floor areas, underwent deep cleaning. Chewing gum was also removed, and surfaces were treated with a "monobrosse" (floor scrubber).
This operation also focused on the walls, pillars, and decorative supports. The walls facing the tracks were repainted, and graffiti on panels illustrating the iconic RER D walking routes, as well as on the pillars beneath them, were removed.
These interventions, carried out at night to ensure safety and avoid disrupting travelers, have given the underground station's platforms a cleaner and more well-maintained appearance.
