On Saturday, September 26th, residents of the Porte de Vincennes neighborhood celebrated the opening of the new Suzanne Liébrard sports center. The inauguration was attended by several political figures, including the Mayor of Paris, Emmanuel Grégoire, the mayor of the 12th arrondissement, Lucie Castets, as well as sports deputies Maxime Sauvage and Nizar Belghith.
Designed by the firm O-S architectes and managed by SEMAPA, this municipal facility offers sports spaces across three levels. The first floor houses a multipurpose hall of over 300 m², while the second floor features a 325 m² boxing gym with a ring and punching bags. The third floor contains a 435 m² dojo with two combat areas.
The building also includes a 14-meter-high climbing wall with 12 routes, accessible independently and protected from the weather.
With a strong focus on environmental design, the sports center extensively uses PEFC or FSC certified wood for its structure, walls, and facade. The green roof is equipped with 150 m² of photovoltaic panels. Birdhouses, insect hotels, green spaces, bio-sourced or recycled materials, and rainwater harvesting complement the ecological features. The project adheres to the silver level of the Bâtiments Durables Franciliens (BDF) initiative by Ekopolis.
