Despite investigations by the Town Hall of Esbly, SAUR, and Val d’Europe Agglomération, the origin of the strong odors detected in the Avenue Foch sector remains unexplained to date.

Following several reports concerning the presence of strong odors, primarily in the Avenue Foch sector, the Mayor has requested the services of SAUR and Val d’Europe Agglomération to conduct investigations to identify the source.
Checks have been carried out on the wastewater and sewage networks, including through televised inspections. At this stage, no particular network malfunction has been revealed. The inspected pipes show normal flow and no signs of obstruction. Furthermore, the nature of the detected odors does not appear to correspond to those usually associated with sewage systems.
Initial checks concerning agricultural activities have not established a direct link with spreading operations, as no such operations were reported in the municipalities of Esbly and Isles-lès-Villenoy during the period in question. Only the municipality of Vignely was reportedly involved in this type of operation.
The hypothesis of a localized intervention on private property cannot be entirely ruled out, but it remains a mere hypothesis in the absence of confirming elements. The Municipality remains mobilized and is continuing its efforts with various stakeholders.
The Town Hall invites residents to continue reporting any new presence of unusual odors, specifying their location, the times they are detected, and their frequency, to help guide the investigations. The collaboration and vigilance of citizens are appreciated.
