Faced with a 24% error rate in sorting bins, where recyclables and non-recyclables are mixed, the CAPM has decided to take concrete action. The objective is to reduce this rate to less than 20% through a two-year field program, with a budget of nearly 3 million euros, over 1.5 million of which is subsidized by CITEO.
This ambitious program, already underway, includes auditing 350 residences to assess the condition of waste areas, signage, and lighting, as well as bin allocation. In parallel, 4,000 households have already been met by eco-animators to understand sorting barriers and provide personalized advice. Local outreach activities have also been taking place in markets and associations since May 2026.
For real-time monitoring, smart cameras have been installed on the territory's collection trucks since October 2024, allowing for address-by-address tracking of sorting quality. A door-to-door awareness campaign has been deployed since September 2026, targeting over 15,000 homes to reinforce good sorting practices.
Social landlords, co-ownership managers, building caretakers, neighborhood associations, and socio-cultural centers are also mobilized to relay these actions to residents and ensure lasting change.
