The town of Magny-le-Hongre is coloring up for the 5th edition of Magny en Rose, a solidarity event dedicated to the fight against cancer, as part of Octobre Rose (Pink October). The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, starting at 9:30 AM.
Participants are invited to cover a 3km trail, walking or running, in a friendly atmosphere, whether with family or friends. The only requirement to participate is not to be afraid of ending up covered in colorful powder. A raffle will also be held after the race.
The event aims to raise awareness about breast cancer. Information and prevention stands will be available at the Émilie Andéol gymnasium. As every year, the proceeds from Magny en Rose will be donated to cancer support organizations, including the Ligue contre le cancer (Cancer League) and the Association Vaincre le Cancer Solidairement (AVACS).
Registration for the Color Run will open on September 7 at the town hall, with a fee of €10 per adult and €5 per child.
Alongside this main event, several activities are planned throughout October as part of Octobre Rose: an introduction to oriental dance on October 3 at Semailles (€15, registration at shimmies.fr), a discovery workshop for short films and stop motion on October 3 at the Anciennes mairies (free, registration at 07 82 91 01 86), an introduction to Tai Chi on October 10 at the forecourt of the Émilie Andéol gymnasium (11 AM-12 PM), and a hike on October 8 (€5, registration at magnyrando.fr).
Other activities include Yoga classes on October 11 and 18 at the Anciennes mairies (two slots: 10 AM-11:30 AM and 4 PM-5 PM, registration via email at magnyoga@gmail.com), a West Coast Swing discovery workshop on October 12 at Semailles (7:30 PM-9 PM), as well as a photo exhibition by S2GRIFF at the Mairie with free admission.
The Color Run will start at 9:30 AM from the Émilie Andéol gymnasium. Access to the information stands is free, while participation in the color run requires registration at the town hall.
