Following extensive consultation, the municipality of Pommeuse has decided to mark 29 parking spaces on Rue Pasteur to improve traffic flow and safety.

Rue Pasteur, a major axis in Pommeuse connecting several hamlets and neighboring towns, is undergoing a significant parking reorganization. Faced with what was deemed anarchic parking, the town hall initiated a consultation process to find concrete solutions.
In early April, an initial awareness campaign was conducted among the street's residents, inviting them to use their properties for parking. After two months of observation, with difficulties persisting, a public meeting was held on June 18 at the town hall. Over 80 residents participated in this exchange aimed at collaboratively developing solutions.
A final consultation gathered final remarks from households, which informed the final decision. The consensus reached led to the marking of ground-level parking spaces, taking suggestions into account while prioritizing four objectives: ensuring passage for school buses, waste collection, and emergency vehicles; ending chaotic parking; enforcing speed limits; and improving access and visibility for entering and exiting homes.
These imperatives have resulted in the creation of 29 marked parking spaces along the entire street, where approximately thirty vehicles were previously parked on the roadway. The municipality thanks participants for their involvement in this concerted decision-making process.
The work to mark the spaces and refresh pedestrian crossings will take place on Monday, October 19, and Tuesday, October 20, during school holidays to minimize disruption. Parking will be prohibited in the mornings on specific sections of Rue Pasteur. Vehicles parked in these areas will be towed.
After the work, parking will only be permitted in the designated spaces. For exceptional needs (construction, moving), a permit must be requested from the municipal police. They will ensure compliance with the new rules through regular checks and, if necessary, fines, to ensure Rue Pasteur is safe, accessible, and pleasant.
