On Saturday, September 26th, the young participants and their families were welcomed at the town hall for the official launch of this initiative. The event was attended by Guillaume Le Lay Felzine, Mayor of Torcy, Séverine Garault, Deputy Mayor in charge of Educational Policies, along with teachers and municipal animators.
Families had the opportunity to learn about the workshops' operation through a stop-motion film. This short work was created the previous year by the children themselves, guided by an animator, showcasing the program's creative and engaging approach.
The Tremplin Workshops are aimed at children facing academic difficulties and emphasize a playful and supportive learning method. Each week, children meet in small groups of five to eight participants, from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM. These sessions include homework assistance and educational activities centered around an annual project, which this year will be 'The Story Box,' concluding with a story reading.
The goal of this year-round program is to reinforce students' acquired knowledge while boosting their autonomy and self-confidence.
Teachers play a key role by suggesting to families that their children join the workshops when the program can meet specific needs. This collaborative effort is formalized through the signing of a 'contract' that commits parents, teachers, and animators.
Completely free of charge, the Tremplin Workshops thus offer personalized support, enabling children to progress smoothly through their academic journey.
