On October 14 and 21, residents of La Courneuve had the opportunity for a preview of the future La Courneuve – Six-Routes station, which will be served by lines 16 and 17 of the Grand Paris Express.

The vision of the construction site has radically changed for some residents. 'When they are finished, the place will be incredible! It will make my life easier and bring a lot of jobs,' rejoiced Diba, a resident. About twenty residents of La Courneuve were thus able to visit several areas of the future station, accompanied by Mohamed Aouichi, municipal councilor in charge of transport and mobility, members of the Société des grands projets, and Eiffage.
The objective of this exceptional visit, according to mayor Aly Diouara, was to allow residents to 'appropriate this station, which will perhaps be one of the most beautiful on the GPE, before its delivery'.
The commissioning is now scheduled for late 2028 or early 2029, the construction having experienced delays linked in particular to the pandemic and the complexity of the IT system. However, the building, whose construction began in 2018, is almost complete, with control lines, reception points, and escalators already in place.
Under the brick vault of the passenger hall, visitors discovered the locations for three future commercial spaces accessible without a ticket. They then walked along the platforms, located at a depth of 23 meters, and went up to the roof, which will host an urban forest of 800 sqm.

"This station will have required ten years of work, but we understand why. It is an extraordinary technical feat. And a major asset for the development of our city and the improvement of the daily lives of the people of La Courneuve."

Mohamed Aouichi · Municipal councilor in charge of transport and mobility
Mohamed Aouichi emphasized the station's importance for the development of La Courneuve, placing it near other transport modes such as the RER B, tramway T1, metro 7, and several bus lines. He highlighted its capacity to reduce the isolation of certain neighborhoods, better connect the city to neighboring municipalities, and create an employment dynamic, attracting new businesses and offering professional opportunities.
The project is part of a larger plan to renew the Six-Routes sector, including the creation of housing, shops, activity spaces, and green areas, while promoting soft mobility (walking, cycling) to reduce the dominance of cars. These transformations aim to give a new impetus and a new face to La Courneuve.
