The city of Livry-Gargan is launching a call for applications for the renewal of its neighborhood councils in 2027. These bodies, established in 2015, allow residents to participate in discussions about their living environment.

The neighborhood councils, organized around the city's five historic districts – Centre, Danton, Gargan, Jacob, and Poudrerie – serve as spaces for exchange and consultation. They enable residents to voice their opinions and share their expectations regarding their living environment. In 2027, these bodies will be renewed, offering new Livry residents the opportunity for civic engagement.
Throughout their terms, council members have addressed diverse topics such as traffic, parking, cleanliness, security, and urban development. They are also involved in municipal projects. For instance, council members from the Jacob district contributed to discussions on the opening of the Neighborhood House and Clémenceau Park. In Gargan, they participated in the renaturation of Bayard Square and the opening of the Gargan Neighborhood House. In the Danton district, discussions focused on the renovation of the Gutenberg dojo and Vauban school. Centre district council members worked on Sévigné Lake, while those in Poudrerie participated in public space improvements.
Although their role is advisory, their proposals can influence project development. Their daily experience makes them valuable contacts for the municipality. Their mission also continues on the ground during urban walks organized with elected officials. Ten such meetings allowed for direct observation of daily issues in over 80 Livry streets and tracking of initiated improvements.
From the beginning of 2027, neighborhood councils will continue their mission: fostering concrete local democracy, closely aligned with residents' daily lives. Any adult, whether a resident, economic actor, student, or association member, can participate. The application deadline is November 29, 2026. A draw will then be held to select the 16 members for each council.
