Colorful furniture, wooden structures, toys, and comfortable cushions create a pleasant and creative environment for families in this new location at 36 avenue Nelson Mandela. Initiated and managed by the Department in conjunction with the City, the 1,000 First Days Hut was inaugurated in the presence of the mayor Virginie de Carvalho, the president of the Departmental Council Stéphane Troussel, the prefect of Seine-Saint-Denis Julien Charles, and the vice-president of the Departmental Council Nadia Azoug.
Dedicated to early childhood, this space welcomes and supports families without appointments and free of charge during pregnancy (from the 5th month) and up to the child's 3rd birthday. Parenthood is at the heart of this initiative, led by three permanent professionals and numerous local partners. 'It is a real challenge to bring closer access to information, professionals, and the best advice. Because young parents need this above all: benevolent support and advice, facing the great adventure of raising and educating a child,' emphasized Virginie de Carvalho. The city is committed to supporting early childhood, with four childcare facilities and 114 registered childminders.
Open from Monday to Friday, The Hut offers advice, exchanges, helps to break isolation, and organizes health prevention (nutrition) and development workshops. This resource center is already attracting parents from Tremblay, like Kenza, who visited with her one-year-old daughter Tesnim. 'This is my second time here. I liked it. I will come back when the opportunity arises. I am already interested in asking questions about food diversification. I would have also inquired about breastfeeding but it's too late. Coming here also allows for exchanges with other parents,' she concludes.
The 1,000 First Days Hut is open from Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM and from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM at 36 avenue Nelson Mandela. Workshops are scheduled for October, including a sensory workshop on October 1st, 8th, and 15th, sensory and musical bubbles on October 5th, 'Tell me a story' workshops on October 12th and 22nd, 'Books and tales' on October 14th, 'Bougeothèque' on October 19th and 29th, and a cooking workshop on October 23rd.
