The city of Créteil is launching its 2026-2027 sports season with the traditional Créteil Games, offering schoolchildren a series of annual events. These initiatives aim to highlight the work of municipal sports educators and teachers, while instilling the values of sport in young residents.

Créteil's ambitious sports policy, developed over many years, is built around quality facilities, school-based interventions, and support for local stakeholders. The municipality backs 80 sports associations, enabling approximately 16,500 participants to engage in about sixty disciplines, thereby promoting access to sport for all and its role in education and health.
Within the Sports Directorate, fourteen territorial physical and sports activity educators (Étaps) collaborate with the teaching teams from the National Education system. They assist students from CP to CM2 in acquiring physical and collective skills, emphasizing the importance of physical activity for health, rule adherence, and developing autonomy.
The Créteil Games, key events of the year, extend the work done in classrooms. Far from being mere competitions, they allow students to practice their skills, measure their progress, and share a sporting experience with children from other schools. These games have become a cherished tradition, bringing together multiple generations of Créteil residents.
Discovering sports at school helps children identify their interests and aptitudes. The US Créteil, a major multi-sport club, offers continuity with 31 associations and over 10,000 members. To ensure affordability, the municipality provides sports-culture vouchers for young Créteil residents under 20, covering up to 70% of activity costs based on family income.
The Créteil Games season kicked off with 1146 first-grade students from 60 classes participating in endurance events from October 12th to 16th at the leisure island. CP students will engage in multisport events from November 30th to December 4th at the Robert Oubron sports center. CE2 students will gather at the Habette stadium for team ball games from March 8th to 12th. CM1 and CM2 students will dedicate a week to athletics on the new track at the Duvauchelle stadium from May 10th to 14th, followed by handball at the same stadium from June 7th to 11th.
These Games are the culmination of year-round educational and sports work, aiming to introduce sport, foster the joy of movement, instill healthy habits, and provide pathways to clubs for those interested.
