To commemorate the Armistice of November 11th, collections for the Bleuet de France will take place in Saint-Mandé on November 8th and 11th. The initiative aims to support veterans and war orphans.

The Cadets of the Foreign Legion Recruitment Group (GRLE), involved in a new national cohesion program, will hold a collection on Sunday, November 8th at the Tourelle market. A second collection will be conducted on November 11th by the Youth Municipal Council, alongside the National Union of Combatants.
This project, named "Bleuet des cadets," is a partnership between the GRLE and the departmental service of the Val-de-Marne's National Office for Combatants and War Victims, supported by the Bleuet de France endowment fund. Students from the Lycée Arago in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges are crafting metal poppies that will be painted by a cadet and an injured soldier. Each poppy will be unique, numbered, and engraved with its creators' names, intended for auction to raise funds.
The collected donations will fund social, psychological, and financial aid for beneficiaries and war orphans. The history of the Bleuet de France dates back to World War I, when the flower became a symbol of resilience for the 'Poilus'.
