Despite a cruel 2-1 defeat in the 6th round of the French Cup against Tremblay-en-France, CA Vitry is showing excellent form at the start of the season. The senior football team had won all its league matches up to this point, marking its best Cup performance in several years. In regional division 2, their dominance is total with four wins in as many games and only one goal conceded, rewarding a reconstruction project after several relegations.
« We are in a new cycle with a young group that works well, » explains coach Farid Boukhetouta, supported by an extensive staff including a physical trainer, an osteopath, a goalkeeping coach, and another coach, ensuring comprehensive medical support.
The players train three times a week on the Vitry pitches, honing their teamwork with targeted drills such as « pass to 10 with two touches » and controlled touches. These efforts are paying off, strengthening the team's cohesion.
“"We really have a great spirit. Everyone is looking to improve, everyone respects each other. We are united and we even talk about problems off the field; it's this human and family aspect that is important."
The club's family spirit was highlighted when a training session was interrupted to comfort a player after a personal ordeal. Left winger Kevin, who returned to play for Vitry after a career in Europe, testifies to this unique atmosphere: « Atmospheres like this are rare. The project is very interesting and the good spirit impacts our results ».
« We still have good times ahead of us this season, » concludes Kevin, before rejoining his teammates.
