On October 22, 2026, HEC Paris and Université Paris-Saclay signed an agreement to strengthen their Lab2Biz partnership, a program dedicated to creating deeptech startups from scientific advancements.

The Lab2Biz program, initiated in 2014, synergizes students from HEC Paris MBA and researchers from Université Paris-Saclay. The goal is to explore the entrepreneurial potential of innovations from laboratories and foster the emergence of deeptech startups.
For three months, teams composed of students and researchers examine the possible applications, commercial prospects, and business models of technologies developed at Université Paris-Saclay. Students take on the role of founders, while researchers contribute their scientific expertise.

"It's a simulation, but the work is the same. The researcher remains a researcher, the students take the place of the founders, and everyone sees what the technology can become."

Michel Safars · Professor of Entrepreneurship, Academic Director of the Entrepreneurship specialization of the HEC Paris MBA and founder of Lab2Biz
This collaboration allows HEC Paris MBA students to apply their strategy and entrepreneurship skills to concrete scientific projects. For researchers, it offers an entrepreneurial perspective on their work and helps clarify the valorization of their innovations.
The new agreement extends a collaboration started in 2014, aiming to improve the quality of supported projects and increase interactions between research and management to boost the Francilien deeptech ecosystem.
Eloïc Peyrache, Dean and CEO of HEC Paris, and Camille Galap, President of Université Paris-Saclay, signed this agreement, highlighting the importance of dialogue between scientific, technological, and managerial skills to transform scientific innovation into a business project.
