During its session on October 6th, the Guyancourt Municipal Council voted on several important points for the town's future. An Ecological Transition Pact, developed jointly with the CTECSQY (Collectif pour la Transition Écologique et Citoyenne de SQY), was unanimously adopted. This pact formalizes ten concrete commitments aimed at reducing the town's ecological footprint, such as renovating built heritage, developing soft mobility, promoting an economy respectful of planetary limits, reducing waste, and supporting urban agriculture.
As a sign of solidarity, an exceptional subsidy of €3,000 was granted to the Association des Maires de France (AMF). This aid aims to support populations and communities affected by the exceptionally large forest fires that occurred during the summer of 2026, particularly in Gironde and Landes.
The council also voted on the town's representation within the Twinning Committee. Since May 7th, 2026, the committee has been administered by an elected board of 9 members, and Juliette Beillard will now serve as the designated member from the municipal council.
Finally, an informational update was provided regarding the upcoming implementation of a communal health insurance plan. Faced with people foregoing medical care for financial reasons, the town aims to offer accessible health coverage to all residents starting this autumn. Several proposals were received, offering rates 20% lower than market prices. This individual and optional membership will provide various coverage levels, including hospitalization, routine care, pharmaceutical costs, optical, and dental. The town will act as a facilitator and negotiator to secure these advantageous rates.
