Le Chesnay-Rocquencourt celebrates the reopening of its renovated stadium, an facility now accessible to everyone. Footballers, athletes, and schoolchildren benefit from modernized facilities, complemented by landscaping and new pathways that enhance its integration into the local environment.
The athletics track is open free of charge to residents every morning, from 6 AM to 8 AM, before the schoolchildren arrive. This initiative aims to encourage physical activity and make the stadium a meeting place for the community.
The inauguration ceremony, marked by emotion and conviviality, took place in the presence of Anne Père-Brillault, mayor of Le Chesnay-Rocquencourt, elected officials, and representatives from the sporting world. The history of the stadium, which has supported the town's athletes for several generations, was reviewed.
Special tribute was paid to Dominique Pannetier and Alain Rolland, two figures who have left a lasting mark on local sports life. The speech by Madame le Maire, whose full significance is reproduced in this article, highlighted the importance of this moment of memory and transmission.
The day concluded in a friendly atmosphere, highlighted by a victory for the local team of Le Chesnay-Rocquencourt against Marly-le-Roi with a score of 5 to 0.
The municipality thanks the municipal teams, companies, clubs, and all those who contributed to the realization of this project. The hope is that athletes, young and old, will share many moments and enjoy great victories in this stadium that is now also theirs.
