As part of the launch of the first Baby Reader Award, Versailles Grand Parc is organizing a traveling exhibition dedicated to the renowned children's author-illustrator Malika Doray. This playful and poetic immersion will take place in the heart of the Agglomeration's media libraries, libraries, and early childhood structures.
The aim is to foster a taste for stories and an early introduction to reading from the first months of life. The exhibition, which presents literary creation at a child's level, will travel to several municipalities in the territory throughout the season, meeting toddlers and their families.
Known for her albums with minimalist graphics, vibrant color blocks, and expressive little animals, Malika Doray, a leading author for MeMo editions, addresses themes such as emotions, growing up together, and the daily lives of young children. The exhibition offers an interactive journey with giant visuals, original sketches, and installations adapted for toddlers, aiming to reveal the creation process of a children's album, allow manipulation of shapes and colors, and share privileged reading moments.
The traveling exhibition will stop at several partner structures: Toussus-le-Noble (Municipal Library, October 1st to 30th, 2026), Le Chesnay-Rocquencourt (Municipal Library, November 4th to December 3rd, 2026), Versailles (Versailles Grand Parc - Salle des Assemblées, December 9th, 2026), Bois d’Arcy (Médiathèque Abrioux, January 5th to February 2027), Buc (Relais Petite Enfance, February 5th to March 3rd, 2027), Viroflay (Maison des Familles, March 5th to 31st, 2027), Fontenay-le-Fleury (Municipal Library, April 2nd to 30th, 2027), and Saint-Cyr-l’École (Albert-Camus Library, May 4th to 31st, 2027).
This event is part of the dynamic of the Baby Reader Award, initiated by Versailles Grand Parc to promote reading from the earliest age. Families and early childhood structures are invited to vote for their favorite album from the official selection of the year.
Access to the exhibition is free during the opening hours of the host structures. It is advisable to inquire with your media library for associated workshops, storytelling sessions, and special events.
